Artist Statement My work is rooted in the language of abstraction - compositions that embrace spontaneity, emotion, and mystery. I work primarily in acrylic, often building layers with collage, texture and colors to create visual depth and movement. Faces of women appear frequently in my work, emerging from the abstract as quiet witnesses or bold presences. They are not portraits, but symbols - of strength, complexity and story. My current body of work, Bare Beauties, is powerful and an intimate series that centers on women living with hair loss based on my own experience with hair loss. My work speaks to themes of identity, vulnerability, and the quiet strength found in self-acceptance. My art invites viewers to reconsider conventional notions of beauty and femininity. Whether I’m painting, collaging with painted papers, or printing, I approach each piece as an invitation - to be present, to take risks, and to stay open to what wants to emerge.
